Welcome!

The Lancers Senior Drum & Bugle Corps was originally organized in 1920 at the Harold H. Bair Post 14, American Legion in Hanover, PA. The marching group participated in concerts, parades, and competitions from its inception until 1983 and was at that time the oldest continuously operating drum and bugle corps in America. Due to financial and management challenges, the corps disbanded in 1983.

In the summer of 1990, a few former members planned a corps reunion, and by October, an alumni corps was once again on the street in Hanover. The corps has been steadily growing since that time and today boasts a roster of over 100 members and includes alumni from the 1950’s to the 1980’s, as well as high school and college students; members range in age from 15 to 75. The membership includes people from all walks of life and always welcomes interested participants.

The Lancers have been recognized as Hanover’s Music Ambassadors and have represented the community in prestigious events like the National Apple Blossom Parade in Winchester, VA, the National Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, D.C., and numerous events throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland. The corps participated in “America’s Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration” in Plymouth, MA in November of 2012 along with eight other alumni corps from New England, Pennsylvania and Canada.
